Applying for an anniversary or birthday message
You can apply for a congratulatory birthday or anniversary message from The King and Queen through the Royal Family Anniversaries Office. Applications can be made online or by post. Please see below for links to the online or postal application forms.
If you have already made an application and the wedding anniversary or birthday has now passed, a belated message will be sent from Their Majesties. You do not need to reapply and you will receive a new email or letter confirmation when a message has been arranged.
Messages will be delivered as soon as possible and usually within 2-3 weeks, but the Anniversaries Office is unable to specify a date of delivery.
Please note that a recipient, or a family member or friend, should apply for a message; due to privacy regulations, the Lord-Lieutenant is unable to arrange this for you.
Please contact the Lieutenancy Team if you require assistance, or send a private message via the Banffshire Lord-Lieutenant Facebook page.
Each year, thousands of birthday and wedding anniversary cards are sent to people celebrating significant birthdays and wedding anniversaries.
The delivery of these messages is arranged by the Anniversaries Office at Buckingham Palace, continuing a tradition which goes back to 1917.
Cards are sent to those celebrating their 100th and 105th birthday and every year thereafter, and to those celebrating their Diamond wedding (60th), Blue Sapphire (65th), Platinum (70th) wedding anniversaries and every year thereafter.
Select a link below to find out how to apply for a birthday and wedding anniversary cards. We would also be delighted to arrange personal greetings from the Lord-Lieutenant and a visit from the Lieutenancy Team.
